Our local licensed tour guide will give you an insight on the history of noble families in one of the most beautiful baroque cities in the South East of Sicily and the most interesting anecdotes about it. Over the course of the tour, you will be able to visit the Cathedral and other churches of the historic city centre, passing by Via Cavour and Via Nicolaci in order to discover all the historic palaces, the secrets of court life and the most important landmarks, such as Palazzo Ducezio and the theatre. You will also access the most beautiful panoramic terraces and the crypts only accompanied by our authorised guide. Taking a tour with a guide is the best experience ever!!

Our exclusive licensed local guide shall stay with you throughout the guided tour, which includes:

  1. a walk along Via Vittorio Emanuele, a street that is famous for its religious orders;
  2. a stop at the so-called Chiesa di Maria Assunta (Church of St Mary of the Assumption) commonly known as Chiesa di Santa Chiara (Church of St Clare);
  3. an optional visit to the panoramic terrace;
  4. stop at the Cathedral Basilica of St Nicolò (free entrance); stop at Palazzo Ducezio, the site of the Noto City Hall (optional visit to the Mirror Chamber with a panoramic view);
  5. stop at the Basilica of the Holy Saviour (optional visit to the cantories of the cloistered nuns and the Tower of Belvedere);
  6. stop at Via Cavour known as the street of noble palaces. Here overlook the wondrous balconies of the most important aristocratic families’ residences: Trigona, Astuto, Battaglia, Nicolaci, Di Lorenzo;
  7. stop at Via Corrado Nicolaci, known as the international Noto showcase since here, on the third Sunday of May, a flower festival called infiorata takes place and attracts thousands of visitors every year. The protagonists of this scenery are the balconies of the Princes of Villadorata’s Palace: the Nicolaci Family (Optional visit to the Palace);
  8. visit to the scenographic concave facade of the Montevergini Church (optional visit to the two bell towers);
  9. after following Via Rocco Pirri with its lovely Market Loggia, we shall go on our way back along Corso Vittorio Emanuele to end up in Piazza XVI Maggio that overlooks Hercules’ Fountain Villa, Tina di Lorenzo theatre (which you can choose to visit) and St Dominic’s Church, Rosario Gagliardi’s architectural masterpiece. (There will also be an optional visit to the crypt of Dominican friars’ sitting strainers).

*Upon agreement with our tour guide, it is possible to personalise the itinerary and duration of the trip on request and include further stops in order to taste typical Sicilian pastries, crushed-ice lemon drinks, wine and many other typical Sicilian products.

We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for walking. In summer, remember to bring a hat and a water bottle.
