Discover Sicilian ceramics and the Aidone mosaics in the vicinity of Enna

You can choose between two different experiences:

- Clay manipulation workshop

This workshop will give you not only the opportunity to learn about the process and the working techniques involved in clay manipulation, but also, and most importantly, the chance to get to work and unleash your creativity. After a short introduction about the clay manipulation stages and the many possible moulding and decorating techniques, each participant shall be meticulously instructed on how to make a manufactured item to his/her liking by using one of the illustrated techniques. After the necessary drying time is complete, every self-made item shall be baked and sent to each participant upon request.

- Mosaic workshop

The aim of this workshop is to introduce adults and children to the complex art of mosaic making, of which Sicily hosts precious archaeological finds dating back to Greek-Roman times. In order to make a direct reference to the archaeological heritage in central Sicily, all participants shall produce a decorative motif to their liking between those shown in the ancient mosaics dating back to Greek-Roman times, discovered at the archaeological site of Morgantina and those dating back to Roman times, hosted at the Villa Romana del Casale. Each mosaic shall be given back to its maker at the end of the workshop.
